John Swinton is professor of practical theology and pastoral care at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and founding director of the Centre for Spirituality, Health, and Disability at Aberdeen. Before teaching theology, he worked in mental health care for many years. He brings together a compassionate understanding of mental health and illness with a hopeful understanding of faith and what it means to live well. He’s has authored a number of books including Finding Jesus in the Storm, and Becoming Friends of Time.
